Graham HarrellGraham HarrellHow frustrating would it be to lead the #1 passing offense in the nation, have a 71% completion rate, account for 47 touchdowns and only 7 interceptions, be in the top-five career passers in NCAA history, within one touchdown of having the all-time NCAA TD mark (which he will get in the Cotton bowl), be 11-1 with your only loss to the number one team in the country . . . and you can’t even make third team All-American? That’s gotta suck!

I’m willing to bet Graham Harrell is the best fourth-team All-American QB in history – by a mile.

The Big 12, as expected, was well represented with four sophomores. Sam Bradford (Quarterback-Oklahoma), Michael Crabtree (Wide Receiver-Texas Tech), Dez Bryant (Wide Receiver – Oklahoma State), Jeremy Maclin (All Purpose-Missouri).  In fact, the Big 12 had four of the six sophomores on the team.

There were also two senior Big Twelvers on the first team – Tight End Chase Coffman- Missouri and Guard Duke Robinson-Oklahoma. All six first teamers were offense (big shock there).

The conference had three juniors (including quarterback Colt McCoy of Texas) and a sophomore on the second team. Three of the four were offense.

The third team consisted of five seniors, a junior and a sophomore (running back Kendall Hunter-Oklahoma State) and wide receiver Jordan Shipley-Texas. Five of the seven were on offense.

Of the 17 players from the Big 12 on the All-American teams, 14 were on offense and three on defense. Seven seniors, four juniors and six sophomores.

Here is the breakdown by class for all players picked on the three teams.
